The Hauppauge Public Library loves our volunteers!
We are using a new volunteer software to sign up for volunteer opportunities (in-person events, as well as occasional on-location events). Our virtual volunteering projects are also housed on this new volunteer site. Note: Virtual volunteer projects have seasonal expiration dates. Always check the expiration date before starting a virtual project. Some projects may get renewed, while other projects may not. If you don’t see a project that you’ve done in the past listed in the current projects list, it may no longer be available.
Visit hauppaugelibrary.galaxydigital.com to see all the volunteer opportunities available, create a volunteer profile account, and sign up for volunteer events and virtual projects. From this account, you will be able to keep track of the community service hours you accumulate at the Hauppauge Public Library and have 24-hour access to your information.
Check out this handy video that shows you some of the ins and outs of the site and how to get started! Or download this two-page guide to navigating the site. Note: If you are under the age of 13, the system will prompt your parent/caregiver to fill out a parental consent form in order to have an account and use the software. If you are a volunteer over the age of 18, a background check conducted by the Hauppauge Library will be required.
If you are attending a volunteer opportunity or completing a virtual volunteer project to fulfill a specific requirement for school or another organization, please check with your teacher or advisor to make sure they will accept the community service hours.
Please reach out to us if you need verification of hours completed prior to the debut of our new volunteer software. We can be reached at (631) 979-1600 or help@hauppaugelibrary.org.
