The Hauppauge Public Library takes the health and safety of our guests and staff very seriously, and have procedures in place to continually monitor and assess public health concerns, including the spread of COVID-19.
There are signs in all bathrooms reminding guests and staff to wash their hands frequently with soap and water, cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve, and to stay home when feeling ill. We have removed all stuffed animals, soft toys and other toys that are difficult to clean and sanitize, from the public floor. We also are not providing headphones for public use at the computers, until further notice.
We are continuing with our scheduled programs, but may need to adjust that in the coming days or weeks. Anyone with a Hauppauge Public Library card has at-home access to many of our online resources, including:
•Kanopy (movies)
•Overdrive and Libby (eBooks and audio books)
•Hoopla (eBooks, audio books and some music and television shows)
•Flipster (hundreds of different magazine subscriptions)
•Cloud Library, Ebsco and RB Digital (eBooks)
•Tumblebooks (children’s eBooks)
•Brainfuse (online tutoring for K-12 students, Adult Learning Center, etc.)
•Databases via our website
(https://hauppaugelibrary.org) including:
◦211 Long Island Database
◦ABMS Directory of Board Certified Medical Specialists

We will provide regular updates through our website and social media outlets as we receive more information and monitor the World Health Organization, CDC, NYS Department of Health, and the Suffolk County Department of Health sites.
