Mission Statement
The mission of The Friends of the Hauppauge Public Library is to promote, support, advocate for and further the goals of the Hauppauge Public Library.

Membership Information
Annual membership dues are $5 for individuals and $10 for families; lifetime memberships are available for individuals at $50 and families at $75.
Click here to download the application. The annual membership period begins on January 1st of each year.
Membership dues support a Free Summer Concert Series, an Annual Photography Contest, a student Writing Contest in conjunction with the Hauppauge School District, and more.
Scholarship Information
The Friends of the Library is offering a scholarship for seniors graduating from Hauppauge High School. There will be two scholarships awarded, each valued at $250. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2019.

The Friends group is run by a Steering Committee. As of July 1, 2013 the committee is composed of four members.

The Friends of the Hauppauge Public Library (Friends) is an organization that works to promote, support, advocate for and further the goals of the Hauppauge Public Library.
How do the Friends accomplish their goals?
The Friends work closely with the Hauppauge Public Library in a variety of ways. The Friends raise funds to be used to support its mission through memberships,
donations, grants and fundraisers. Members volunteer their time and talents at various programs and events.
What kind of programs and events do the Friends sponsor?
The Friends sponsor a series of free summer concerts. In addition the Friends sponsor a writing contest for our Hauppauge school students and and annual photography contest.
How can I join The Friends of the Hauppauge Public Library?
You can join the Friends by filling out a membership form and returning it along with your dues to the Hauppauge Public Library’s Circulation Desk.

How much does it cost to join The Friends?
An individual memberships are $5 per year; family membership are $10 per year. Lifetime memberships are also available for $50 per individual or $75 per family. The membership year runs from January 1 through December 31.
What do I get for my membership?
Besides supporting a good cause, your Friends membership will enable you to participate in the governance of the Friends organization and will offer you timely updates and listings of
Friends events and meetings. The Friends meet quarterly in March, June, September and December.
How can I become more involved in the Friends?
The Friends are always looking for people who are willing to share their time and talent with the organization and with the Hauppauge community at large.
If you would like to volunteer in any capacity or if you have a skill, talent or interest that you would be willing to put to use please let us know.

May I attend a Friends meeting?
Yes. Friends meetings are open to everyone. We meet in March, June, September and December.
Where else can I get information about the Friends?
The Friends post informational flyers at the entrance to the library. The library staff is well informed about Friends meetings and events and they will be able to answer many of your questions.
